Awards ALL students K-5 can earn at the end of the year

Academy Awards are where Lincoln Academy students are recognized for accomplishments based on classroom performance data such as reaching, SMAD and AR levels, recorder Karate Black Belts, and Honor Roll. Parents are encouraged to continue working with your child to achieve these goals before the award deadlines in May. Your child will review his/her progress with you during Spring Showcase, the third week of May .

Accelerated Reader (AR)

  • All AR tests are taken on Lincoln campus
  • Individual Goals are given by teachers to students each 9 weeks
  • To participate in the individual celebrations (listed below) students must meet their Individual Goals and maintain their grade level minimum comprehension average:
    • K-2 comprehension average is 80%
    • 3-5 comprehension average is 85%

Each grade level has been given a specific color to wear to represent their grade level.

Kindergarten: RED
2nd Grade: YELLOW
4th Grade: BLUE

1st Grade: ORANGE
3rd Grade: GREEN
5th Grade: PURPLE

Accelerated Reader Medallion Information

  • ALL students can earn an AR ribbon, medallion or trophy at the End of the Year Academic Academy Awards
  • Students must maintain their grade level minimum comprehension average
    • K-2 comprehension average is 80%
    • 3-5 comprehension average is 85%
  • To earn a RIBBON: students meet 3rd and 4th grade 9 weeks goals
  • To earn a MEDALLION: students need to meet the following point goals:
    • Kindergarten: 20 points
    • 1st Grade: 40 points
    • 2nd Grade: 60 points
    • 3rd Grade: 80 points
    • 4th Grade: 100 points
    • 5th Grade: 120 points
  • To earn a TROPHY: students need to meet the following point goals:
    • Kindergarten: 25 points
    • 1st Grade: 50 points
    • 2nd Grade: 70 points
    • 3rd Grade: 90 points
    • 4th Grade: 115 points
    • 5th Grade: 135 points
  • Students will earn the HIGHEST reward at the award ceremony
  • End of the year points must be earned by May 8, 2024

SMAD Math Fluency

  • SMAD tests are done on Lincoln campus
  • Levels are timed
  • Success is a child's personal journey
  • Students can earn different levels of awards at the End of the Year Academic Academy Awards
  • Students will earn the HIGHEST reward at the award ceremony
  • End of the year levels must be earned by May 10th
  • End of Year Awards are as follows:
    • Ribbon - available for K-5 by completing their entire grade level and being on the next grade level
      • Example: Kindergartner at end of year on 1st grade level
    • Medallion - available for K-5 by completing their entire grade level and being 2 grade levels above
      • Example: Kindergartner at end of year completing all K and 1st and on 2nd grade level
    • Trophy - available for K-5 by completing their entire grade level and being 3 grade levels or higher
      • Example: Kindergartner at end of year completing all of K, 1st and 2nd and being on 3rd or higher
