Special Activity Area for Grades 2 through 5
with Mrs. Kelly Williams

We are excited to share that we will begin offering students experiences in the Fab Lab for grades 2-5. These opportunities are voluntary and will take place 2 – 3 times a week for approximately 4 weeks during PE. This should allow for time to complete a project and then rotate other students into the lab. Lessons will be designed to foster creative thinking and problem solving. The students will navigate the STEM process to design and produce items that will be brought home. The items will be created using a laser cutter, vinyl cutter, 3D printer, sublimation printer, and a Handibot.

If your student would like to be considered for this opportunity and you grant permission, please complete, and sign the bottom portion of this paper. Since these activities will occur during PE it is important that you discuss this with your child, so they are aware that they will be pulled at that time to work in the Fab Lab. The expectations in the Fab Lab are to follow directions, be safe and respectful, be caring, and be honest. If the student is not able to follow these expectations, then they will not be allowed to attend Fab Lab and will remain at PE.
